My Autobiography

Hi. My name is Judy. I'm 12 years old, and my birthday is on May 14. I live with my parents, my two sisters, a brother, three uncles, one aunt, and my grandparents. My nationality is Hmong. We do special celebrations. For example if someone gets married, if we tried to help someone who is ill, and New Years. My parents came from other countries and met in California. At age three or four, I already went to school. In kindergarten, I went to a school called Morey Avenue. Fairbanks Elementary School is my first and second grade school. I have friends over there that I can talk to in Hmong. My parents decided to move during my summer school year in second grade. That's how I attended my current school right now.
When I was little, I used to play with my sisters and aunts. I would go to my aunt's house when I was a first grader after going to school and on weekends. While my parents were gone, we would go outside to play and sometimes just talk. I use to get scrapes when I was little. Once I was climbing over this fence (about 2 feet) to my cousins next door and got these scratches (while my mom spoke with my cousins' mom). At my grandparents' house, I was playing with my aunt and uncles when suddenly I ran into a chicken cage and got some bad scratches on my leg.

My Earl Warren Experience

I've been at Earl Warren for about 4 years. Earl Warren is my favorite school because I experienced many new things. My first year at Earl Warren was third grade. Ms. Mahoney was my third grade teacher. It was fun in her class because we would get fake money, and we would sometimes do auction for prizes on Friday. Sometimes on Friday we would go outside and play a class game instead of doing auction.
Since  I've been at Earl Warren, I learned many skills for sports like basketball, volleyball, and soccer
. Also I learned many skills for dodgeball and kickball. I learned these skills from my teacher, Mr. Castro. In Mr. Castro's class, I also had challenging math to do. I enjoyed having friendly competition with the other 6th grade class. The projects we do in Mr. Castro's class are challenging, but as I get more experienced to it, it doesn't seem hard. Mr. Castro teaches us technology which I think will help me in the future. I loved all of the projects we did even though some are challenging. I had many memories at Earl Warren too. There are many friends at this school that are great, awesome, and cool. 6th grade is my favorite grade because I get to go to middle school. I wish 6th grade at Earl Warren wouldn't end because I might not see some of my classmates.

Teacher's Message

Judy has been an absolute pleasure to teach. It is rare that I have a student who can be given instructions once and be trusted to not only complete the assignment, but go above and beyond what was expected. Judy is very independent and self-motivated. I have never had a student who had such a talent when it came to technology. My favorite memory was in the 4th grade when Judy was actually showing me how to do things on PowerPoint that I did not know how to do. I then took that new knowledge and shared it with the class. She was also the editor of our fantastic Room 14 Newsletter. This took countless hours, and she stuck with it revision after revision after revision, never complaining even once. Judy has also worked hard to reach an advanced level in all academic areas. Her math is especially amazing, which is why she represented our school at the district math competition. I wanted to thank Judy for her leadership and for being one of my most trusted students. Come back in the future and let me know all of the outstanding things that you are doing!
